The intensive programme is oriented towards the development of oral and written expression and comprehension skills and/or prepare for DELF and DALF examinations.

An intensive French programme for all levels


Courses are oriented towards the development of oral and written expression and comprehension skills. Achievement of autonomy in the use of French requires the acquisition of grammar, vocabulary and specific aspects of French culture. A variety of linguistic activities are offered to students and involve the use of specific methods, exercise books and real-life documents: press, adverts, cartoons, written texts, videos… The courses require students to participate on an active basis.



This programme is aimed at all international students including adults, technicians, researchers… regardless of their level in French, who wish to : acquire and improve their skills in spoken and written French and/or prepare for DELF and DALF examinations.

The ILCF teaches students in groups (of 18 to 24 students) according to their level:
A1 Breakthrough > A2 Waystage > B1 Threshold > B2 Vantage > C1 Effective Operational Proficiency > C2 Mastery

Course length

1 semester: 260 hours – 20 hours per week
1 university year: 512 hours – 20 hours per week

The intensive programme includes 20 hours of teaching each week :

Levels A1.1 to B1: 208 hours of common curriculum and 48 hours of selected modules
Levels B2 to C2: 182 hours of common curriculum and 72 hours of selected modules

Courses are taught on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays in the morning and/or afternoon.

According to your level, there is a possibility to attend an additional class depending on availability | Number of hours : 24 hours per specific courses | Price : 352€

Education certificate :

The course is certified by a language diploma approved by the ADCUEFE (group of FLE university centres).
A DUEF (University Diploma in French Studies), corresponding to the level achieved during the semester will be issued on completion, after passing the exams.
The following examinations can also be taken depending on the schedule: DELF and DALF during studies at the ILCF.

Level test

On the first day of each session, students are required to take a test to evaluate their oral and written skills so that they can be allocated to the correct group.

Assessment method: continuous assessment
Validation: 35 university credits or ECTS

1st semester:

From the 4 October 2021 to the 26th January 2022
Placement test: 4 October 2021
Holidays: from the 30th October 2020 to the 7 November 2021 and from the 18th December 2021 to the 2nd January 2022

2nd semester:

From the 3rd February to the 25th May 2022
Placement test: 3 February 2022
Holidays: from the 19th to the 27th February and from the 16th April to the 1st May 2022
