Description :
French courses are geared towards developing oral and written expression and comprehension skills. This pursuit of autonomy in using French is achieved through the acquisition of grammar, vocabulary, and an understanding of the specificities of French culture. A variety of language activities are offered to students, organized around specific methods, workbooks, and authentic materials: newspapers, advertisements, comic strips, literary texts, videos, etc. The courses encourage active student participation.

This program is aimed at all international students, adults, technicians, researchers… of all levels of French language proficiency who wish to:
- to acquire and develop their skills in spoken and written French and/or to prepare for the DELF and DALF .
Levels:
ILCF welcomes students in groups (of 18 to 24 students) corresponding to their level:
A1 Discovery > A2 Survival > B1 Threshold > B2 Advanced > C1 Independent > C2 Mastery
Course length
1 semester: 200 hours – 16 hours per week
1 academic year: 400 hours – 16 hours per week
Levels A0 to B1:
190 hours of French as a foreign language,
10 hours of language lab
Levels B2 to C1:
180 hours of French as a foreign language,
10 hours of language lab,
10 hours of lectures
Classes are held from Monday to Friday, in the morning and/or afternoon.
Level test:
Before the start of each session, a mandatory placement test assessing written and oral skills is organized to integrate students into groups of homogeneous levels.
Learners can strengthen their skills through a 40 hours complementary Language, Culture and Civilization track of, bringing the total to 240 hours per semester.
The program leads to a language diploma accredited by ADCUEFE (the association of university centres for French as a Foreign Language).
The DUEF (Diplôme Universitaire d’Études Françaises), corresponding to the level achieved during the semester, is awarded at the end of the program, subject to successful completion of the assessments.
Students also have the opportunity to sit the following official examinations, according to the examination calendar: DELF and DALF, during their studies at ILCF.
