Semester Intensive Program

French Language and Culture Institute

These courses are for international students, adults, technicians, researchers... of all levels in French language who want:
- to obtain and develop oral and written abilities in French
- and/or to prepare  for the DELF and the DALF exams.

Levels
The ILCF welcomes students in groups corresponding to their level:
Complete beginner > A1 Breakthrough > A2 Waystage > B1 Threshold > B2 Vantage > C1 Effective Operational Proficiency > C2 Mastery

Teaching methods
Courses are conceived to develop oral and written expression and comprehension abilities. The goal is an effective autonomy in using French by learning grammar, vocabulary and French culture. Diverse language activities are offered including exercise workbooks and original documents (press, advertising, comics, literature...) and videos. Courses require the active participation of students.

Organization
The semester intensive program is composed of 20 hours per week. Courses take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays in the morning and/or in the afternoon. Workshops take place on Wednesdays and in the evening.
- For Initiation to B1 levels, this program is composed of 16 hours of courses and 4 hours of language workshops
- For B2 to C2 levels, this program is composed of 13 hours of language instruction plus an additional 7 hours of workshops on French civilization and practical French. You can also choose specialized French instead of these workshops: French for busieness or for tourisma and hotel industry.

Duration
1st semester: 260 hours in 13 weeks from October to January
2nd semester: 260 hours in 13 weeks from February to May
Academic Year: 520 hours in 26 weeks from October to May

Placement test: October 4, 2010
Introduction meeting: October 7, 2010
All Saints Vacation: from October 25 to November 1st, 2010
Christmas Vacation: from December 20, 2010 to January 2, 2011
Public Holiday: November 11, 2010

- 2nd semester: from February 7 to May 27, 2011
Placement test: February 2, 2010
Introduction meeting: February 4, 2011  
Winter Vacation: from March 7 to 13, 2011
Spring Vacation: from April 25 to May 11, 2011

Tuition 2010-2011
1 semester - 260 hours : 1746 €
1 academic year - 520 heures : 3150 €

Level test
A week before each session, we organize a mandatory test to evaluate your written and oral proficiency in French so that we can place you in the appropriate level group.
 
Diplomas
A DULCF (French Language and Culture University Diploma) corresponding to your language level is provided at the end of the program. The Insitute also offers the opportunity  to pass the following exams according to the exams timetable: DELF, DALF, TCF, DFA1, DFA2, CFTH, during your studies in the ILCF.

University credits
Evaluation: regular assessment
Validation: 30 to 35 university credits or ECTS.

Proof of enrolment
In the beginning of the program and after completion of the registration, we provide students with the proof of enrolment and a student identification card.
